Trehalose is a safe carbohydrate that is contained in large quantities
in animals, plants and microorganisms in the natural world. Large quantities
are also contained in the foods lined up on our dining tables every day.
Consequently, humans have eaten Trehalose through various foods without knowing it since ancient times.
Considered based on certain scientific literature, it can be estimated
that 20,000 - 30,000 tons of Trehalose is consumed each year in Japan,
with 0.4 - 0.9g eaten per person each day.
Also, when eaten, this Trehalose is digested and absorbed in the small
intestine, the same as ordinary sugar and maltose. |
